Picayune
Main Street, Inc.’s 32nd bi-annual Street Fair is coming up on November 5th
and 6th, 2011. Our Street fair is always held on the first full weekend in
April and November of each year and has grown to over 300 food and craft
booth vendors. These vendors sell antiques and collectables, arts and
crafts, woodwork, plants, ironworks, jewelry, candles, furniture, purses,
t-shirts, children items, and yard items just to mention a few. Also be sure
to stop in at our local merchants’ stores which will be open throughout the
fair for an additional treat.
Children’s activities such as inflatables, 40 foot slide, 4-point Eurobungee,
Cloud 9 Airplane Simulator, Aqua Bubblez, mechanical bull, rock wall, NASA’s
40 foot Astronaut Orbie, and of course the Choo Choo Train.
Food consists of Seafood, Greek, Cajun, BBQ, kettle corn, roasted corn,
popcorn, hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken on a stick, blooming onions, sausage
poboys, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken wings, loaded nachos, loaded fries,
catfish baskets, smoked brisket, Philly cheese steak, foot long corndogs,
chicken basket, tamales, fried pickles, ice cream, yogurt, hot fudge made on
the spot, German glazed nuts, pizza, funnel cakes, snow cones and much more.
Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy our free entertainment. On our South Main
stage on Saturday, we will have talented bands with our featured entertainer
being Sarah Unbehagean to perform at 3:30 p.m. On Sunday we have Bluegrass
and Gospel music with Shallow Creek, GodSpeed 3, The Cross Ties, and Brenda
Davenport Taylor
On our East Canal stage, both Saturday and Sunday, watch local performance
groups such as cloggers, dance groups, gymnasts, martial arts demonstrators,
show choirs and individual singers.
One of everyone’s favorites on Saturday is the 150+ antique autos and hot
rod show by Boulevard Cruisers. A new attraction on Saturday will be Antique
Military vehicles. On Sunday we will have another favorite Fat Boyz Cycles
motorcycle show.

Previous events have brought approximately 65,000 visitors to Picayune's Street
Fair.
